I remember very vaguely about the story of Harut and Marut...seriously, my vague memories will serve as a blasphemous testimony if anyone believes it. During my sekolah agama time when I was between 10-12, I remember the ustazah was telling the whole bunch about how these two angels defy god. and now when i'm 25(yes i'm 25! oh wait, i'm 20...whatever)i sudenly got this inkling that my memories or maybe even the ustazah was wrong (hell, it might be ustaz azizi or ustaz nazri who told us bunch). that's as far as my memory goes actually and why they defy God i really have no idea. so since yesterday i've been wrecking my brain trying to remember the correct version of the story from my memory...of what i heard about few years back(shut up!). but alas, i have the memory of a dory fish (besides remembering the pinafore i wore when i was 8 :O). so, did some searching and just browsed thru the story, it happened that harut and marut was sent to earth during the time when magic was practiced, like some serious bad ass magic. somewhere in between the story, the jinn or maybe satan got involved and the magic was suppose to break marriages. and at some point, i read that feelings were given to both angels(for whatever purpose i really don't know). then, linking it to my memory, i remembered that both defied God's orders and was punished.

now, i also remember, i was taught that angels have no feeling nor desires and are made to only obey God's command. it is in the Quran but i forgot which verse. so i did some searching again to find the story at the same time got sidetracked watching the simpsons and some youtube videos. what i found was, the stories that was told and taught to me might be a lie concocted by people to shake the believe of muslims (that also might be a conspiracy theory which i can't prove). also, there were several different versions of the story and some might be lies.

so if anyone has any idea what the story was, could you please share it with me, as accurately as possible? the era might be during Solomon's or Sulaiman's (a.s) time.

I don't know why but i found myself wishing that my housemate would finished her studies soon....oh please make it soon.

1. i drew up a schedule for duty, each person from certain date to certain date, approximately 2 weeks each. i wrote down the duties (kitchen, trash, vacuuming, bathroom...). its there plain and clear put on the fridge that everybody opens almost every single day.

2. time table for collecting the green recycle bag with a note for black bg and food caddy as well.

objective: so that it would be fair for everybody and not burden only one person on cleaning and rubbish disposal.

methodology: on the schedule, it is written plainly. being a student, the simple note should be easily deciphered!

summary: is it so hard to understand what is written? i remember telling her plain and simple. plus, if you don'tunderstand what i said, there's a note pasted on the fridge! if only you bothered to read and not expect everything to be told (and i mean every single thing).

future plan/note: don't bother explaining, she can't even understand what you are trying to tell. just ignore her delusions that black bags are supposed to be given free (no, it is not the duty of the council to give free black bags when we run out of it, we need to purchase them! so use whatever's free wisely dammit!).

277. Those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and establish regular prayers and regular charity, will have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

278. O ye who believe! Fear God, and give up what remains of your demand for usury, if ye are indeed believers.

279. If ye do it not, Take notice of war from God and His Apostle: But if ye turn back, ye shall have your capital sums: Deal not unjustly, and ye shall not be dealt with unjustly.

The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of God, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves but if it be a transaction which ye carry out on the spot among yourselves, there is no blame on you if ye reduce it not to writing. But take witness whenever ye make a commercial contract; and let neither scribe nor witness suffer harm. If ye do (such harm), it would be wickedness in you. So fear God; For it is Good that teaches you. And God is well acquainted with all things. If ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another, let the trustee (faithfully) discharge his trust, and let him Fear his Lord conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it, - his heart is tainted with sin. And God knoweth all that ye do.

and yes...this is among the clean pots...

the difference between washed and dirty pots and pans is whether there's water in it or not!

I thought the nightmare was over but i was wrong. somehow, i presume that someone assume by just rinsing it off, or maybe actually clean it but without scrubing, the food stuck at the bottom of the pan will disappear. of course it will! i scrub it off before i use them pots! the miraculously cleaned pot is a miracle only if you yourself make it happen, dammit!

soap or detergent exist for a very good reason, so does your god-given muscles. soap or strength alone is useless if it is not put to good use.

the mole hill mountain has been bulldozed today. some are left but at least the severest of pots have been cleaned (thoroughly or not is non of my business). The stove is clean, the counter is half clean. maybe in teh next few days i can start vaccuuming the kitchen. and today i got a new pan of my own thanks to a friend who had one extra...yeay! tak payah aku guna pot/pan yg lain dah! maybe a few utensils and a pot or two. yippee!!!

Some was from yesterday, some was from last week, some from a few days ago. The bin is full and no one wants to take responsibility, you might ask,'dah tu kalo tak tahan buat laaa sendiri'. I would say,' I've done many times and most of the times and responsibilties are shared not mine alone'. So any one has an extra pot or two or a pan that are not in use, please sedekah to me. Aku takmo campur dah dgn yg lain2 tuh. oh, extra useless info; i've cleaned almost every utensils pots pans plates and bowls when i first came in, it was so unorgananised considering women also lived here before, other than men. it took me two days to do that and vacuumed the whole common area in the house. so far, nobody cared to continue the upkeep. oh, did i mentioned i also laundered the kitchen cloth-s and table cloth as well? abaikan, useless info again.

sorry, i have no life thus the complaints.

I hate that (read it in a spoilt brat tone)...for the first time, well..actually not the first time but whatever, i am really annoyed with somebody in this house...its just a simple case of light switching. is it such a hard job to switch off the lights, nevermind at night, ni siang2 nak bazir letrik buat ape? aku jugak yg kene kire bill aku jugak yg tutup lampu aku jugak yg usaha jimat letrik(not me alone lar but sebab bengang aku assume aku sorg jek yg nak jimat letrik). kalo dulu, lampu on tak kira siang ke malam (assuming that before i moved in). skrg aku ade, nak jimat letrik (the tariffs have gone up), i would switch whatever is on off. but of course, kalo perlu turn it on lar kan.

my question now is, is it ok or down right logical to turn on the lights(lampu kat luar bilik) when you exit your room and then go out of the house without bothering to switch the lights off?

yes, i'm making a mountain over a mole hill but that's because i'm irritated by previous other things as well...

Kalo ade moral police wujud kat mesia, aku rasa akulah org pertama dia tangkap. dah ler tak pakai tudung, cakap pun suka mencarut. kalo mesia jadi macam iran kan, how arr? i wonder. i mean it is not so bad to have moral police enforcing their law, tapi kalo aku masuk jail sebab dilihat bermesra dengan lelaki bukan muhrim cemane ekk? bukan ler bermesra "bermesra". i mean lepak2 kedai mamak borak2 sampai pukul 1 pagi? kan dah jadi trend lepak2 minum teh ke minum kopi ke makan nasi lemak ke kat kedai mamak tu. i mean, muslim brothers and sistes will be directly impacted but how about other nonmuslim brothers and sisters? adekah dipaksa ikut cakap moral police tu nanti?

ahahahahah...ni tertanya pun sebab one online news i read about malaysia nak buat crackdowns during valentine's day, which in my honest opinion is good and a must since kids these days are too sexually advance. not just kids, even some adults but itu salah sendiri lar, an adult should be able to think for themselves. and these crackdowns can and will serve as a warning before jadi satan...hahahahah.

anyway, mase baca news tu aku tergelak lar, bukan sebab ape, sebab in this age and time, kite perlu pulak ambik tindakan sebegitu, aku ingat makin moden satu negara, rakyat pun perlu modenkan diri. bukan moden jadi satan, itu nak jadik jahil balik namanye. islam is a modern religion, sesuai utk setiap masa dan keadaan and is the answer to all your problems (ni tgk ahmad deedat la ni...thank you sheikh and may Allah bless your soul). then one of my labmate pun ckp something which sebenarnye aku pun dah tak ingat but aku hanya kat kat iran lagi dasyat, tak pakai tudung sure kene tangkap police (they have their moral police roaming around street corners and stuff, i watched on youtube so that's where some of my facts come, i might be wrong though s don't take it at face value sgt). die cakap lar bagus lar macam tu, maknenye die nak rakyat die pakai tudung(in other words she meant that everyone should act properly lar. yes, aku masih bukan minah bertudung lagi,salah sendiri la taknak pakai!).however, what i would like to point out here (bukan salahkan my labmate or anything, yg tu tolak tepi takde kaitan, just made me think though), from the youtube i watched the other day, women are oppressed! in an islamic country! it is shocking although i might've know about it but still is shocking!!! i thought islam is about liberation of women, why are they being oppressed in the name of islam? no, i'm not bashing my own religion. i find people who enforced islamic laws failed to enforce it as a whole and only selective laws are implemented to protect some other people's own gains. oi...dosa oi. a lady was interviewed by an iran refugee from sweden(kalo tak silap). anak dah ade few, and she recalled that she was once caught by the moral polices because of something (i can't remember wat, maybe sebab tak pakai tudung ke ape or something more severe than that) and was raped by them before being put into jail. MORAL POLICEs RAPING A CIVILIAN. WHERE'S THE MORAL IN THAT?!! apsal tak masukkan dalam jail terus?kenapa perlu dirogol hamba tu? but then, these unthinkables happened in a country that legalises mutaah or kawin contract which is haram in islam. HARAM TAU TAK HARAM!

This is just like those Christian pastors (not all, that's why the word 'those) with their big churches and tv programs and stuff calling for Christians to donate their money in the name of charity for the church. Lepas tu swindle the money into their own bank accounts and build big mansions for themselves while the other good Christians had to work hard for their money. They call this pastors (or maybe they call themselves) Evangelist. and then everything was exposed and they get themselves caught and put in bars. but doesn't it hurt other good Christians' morality? damn, they surely feel lost.to whom can they go for confessions, to rid the self of sins when the church itself corrupted?

ok...dah off topic here pulak. these are just cases of moral laws implementation gone wrong. or to put it better, using religion for personal gains.

just play of initials...EUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....i don't know who's at fault (or it could even be mine, honestly) but please wash whatever you used for cooking and eating properly and make sure there are no left overs on the plate that you used the soap to wash with. it's getting dirtier, the kitchen. i've cleaned the table tops after i cook. i've just soap cleaned the stove. i've vacuumed the kitchen. i clean my utensils right after i used them MOST of the time, not every time but MOST. i even take out the trash some of the weeks (i only lived here no more than 3 months). i rearranged the plates, pots and pans, spoons and fork, knives and cups and mugs to make them more organised. so at least have the decency to wash after yourself,bukan tinggalkan lama2. i seriously do not know who left them there and do not want to accuse anyone. just a note: behave responsibly towards other people if not yourselves.

this message also serves as a warning to myself.

ego,selfcentered or plain dumb?

you know, i'm actually very happy staying at my new place. but the trouble starts everytime the topic 'bills' comes up. the bills i'm accounted for is electricity+gas+internet. READ: internet. not phone+internet! the root cause of the problem, after using all sorts of charts and tools (in my case, THE BRAIN), is P.A.S. no no....nothing to do with any political party not am i interested in anything related to politics except if the prices of commodities is being control reasonably...ahhh...what am i talking pulak nih...back to the point. almost everytime i enquire about the bills, she would repeat the same old story about how she is not satisfied with the way it is bill (in this case the phone+internet) and how the previous tenant failed to pay their share. ok fine, i can sympathize with that but only to certain extent (i have quite a span actually which is why most of the time i listen to her intently). but i realise soon enough that she wasn't listening to what i'm trying to register in her brain:

1. change the email address for both utilities and internet bills (she told me that she couldn't access it)
2. look at the bills and break it down properly. this can be done by some online research.
3. finalise the meter reading as soon as possible as there's a 2-tier charges for the bills.

i tried to do my part. i tried to do no.1 for her...ONLINE, but she insist on doing it herself by calling the customer service and still no luck. i did no.2 for her many times and tried to get her to understand each bills, which in the end she said she is not satisfied(not with me but with teh company who supplied the services) as she deem them a liar and cheater and not telling the truth. and i even did no.3 except that i can't confirm the meter reading as the confirmation needs her to check her stupid inaccessable email which i volunteered to change for her but she refused!

MFGDI!!!

i checked the bills online, i calculate what each person need to pay and all she has to do is pay it on time and if possible not do it ON the due date itself. so at the end, i said wait till the company finalise the bill (which still needs her confirmation MFGDI!).

so for my first utility bills, i took the meter readings, then some complication but it was fine, and then submit the end-month readings and told her to confirm it ONLINE! But she insist on calling the company customer service. and hey, whaddaya know, half a month later she confirm the reading and the bills were more expensive that it was suppose to be (remember the 2-tier charges?). as the end month reading was confirm half a month later, the charges starts from teh last day of previous bill till the day the reading was confirm, not the day the reading was given! MFGDI! the 1st tier unit price is 7.006p for gas and 23.174p for electricity. and the allocated 1st tier charges applies to certain amount of kWH per year and so it will be calculated according to the days in between meter readings. so if you confirm it late, you have to pay more, that's teh bottom line!!!

now, INTERNET!she took this package some long time ago and stupidly shared the phone line with others and ended up with a debt that she had to pay. whatever, not my problem although i did look into it later. then she was saying (after i checked her phone bills as weel) that she did not call some numbers that were on the bills. fine, i told her to report it as somebody might be stealing her phone line and it did happen to someone i knew. and then i ask about the package she took, suffice to say that she didn't knew peanuts from elecphant balls. so, i did some online research and break down teh charges to her. MFGDI! she freaking flipped due to some unknown reason but related to the company and said she has been cheated and the people there are not telling the truth.so somewhere in between, me and another housemate got fedup. we decided to take our own internet service (ironically, it's with the same company). and since they were promoting their broadband, we needn't pay teh installation fees...yippee hurrah! so earlier today, P.A.S saw the engineer came fixing the broadband in my room and my housemate said she look pissed. i seriously don't know for what reason. but all in all, IN YOUR FACE P.A.S! IN YOUR FACE! I have internet and you don't (this is another story about how she did not pay her bills and told some twisted story and got angry at everybody and stressed herself out(we were stressed too as there were no connection for 6 and a half days including weekends) and called somebody and now out to be angry at the company).

YES! WE OWE YOU ONE LESS BILL NOW!!!

I'm angry with me. and I'm sorry 'at' me. which makes me even angrier at me. i read a blog that i 'stalked' ocassionally (i said occasionally just for the fact that i just discovered it recently). today i realised what a sorry excuse i am to be born human. i should've been born a fish or chicken which at least more useful being turn into food for human feed. which reminds me, humans are just ungrateful being born human (seriously, i'm not talking about anyone, but just angry at myself).

ah...

life is just complex like that.

why can't i be more humble? and i mean humble in the truest sense, not just pretending or thinking that i am humble enough.

why can't i be more grateful? performing prayers five times a day might seem enough but where's the sincerity in performing them not just as obligation but truly submitting to god?

which brings me to...why can't the heart be sincere and the mind pure? why is there arrogance in the heart?

am i losing my religion?

But of course it has nothing to do with religion despite the religious sounding definition.

Something triggered inside my brain and my emotional intelligence just started working. The reason why the heart and mind are impure, all hatred and sadness, all happiness and unnecessary excitement, sebab ni: penyakit hati.

Ikut hati mati, ikut rasa binasa...teringat zaman sogame (sekolah agama, pronounce as sogame without realizing the error mase skolah rendah) dulu, somewhere in some of the kitab (how I wished the kitab still ade tapi seriously dah hilang). Could be dlm kitab akidah kot...tapi yg nyata bukan dlm kitab tajwid....hahahahaha...

Anyways, I think it is true. I followed the heart without extensive thinking. Yer la, where do you think materialistic desires come from. The negativity that comes with it just suddenly hit me today. Hati kate, kalo ade boots lagi sebijik takpe, cantik boots tu. Tapi reality is, tak pakai sgt pun walau dah ade dlm 3 pasang. Hati kata, ooh la la, baju tu lawa, beli lah. Realitinya, pegi school pakai baju same gak, musim sejuk ni takkan nak pakai cotton t-shirt je kot. Rasa plak kate, mmmmm doughnuts. Mata plak tunjuk, boroinye perut kau! Rasa kata, best kan makan buffet kat Ivory tiger. Bank account kate, oi bill tak bayar lagik, sewa bulan depan £200, ko nak makan bulan2 lagi, takkan nak bazir byk2 plak? giler? keje part time pun tak cari2 lagi, ko nak mampos?

However, despite ikut hati mati ikut rasa binasa, penyakit hati still ade, takmo hilang2 plak tu. What a girl to do? Istighfar dear....istighfar banyak2. Think of the consequences of following the heart without the brain as kapitan. Rid the heart of unnecessary desires. Clear the mind. Meditate. Embrace the free life. I really mean free; no money involve. But of course, takkan nak bayar sewa dgn rumput plak kan. Logical thinking required here okeh! Negativity out, positivity in! Baru laaa hidup aman dan tenang.

You know how malaysians are jakuns when it comes to snow (generalization intended)? well, I was one of them last year untill the roads and streets started to froze...damnit I hate it when it snows and thawed and the water freezes on the street...so snow isnt all that great when it made everywhere slippery....

really hope that it will cease soon, otherwise, another jalan-licin day...and a really narky person will be sulking the whole effing day!

on another note, my headache just dissipated after some shut-eyes (tertinggal maghrib skali...dammit(macam alim jek konon)) and procurement from hunger with sloppy pasted tom yum fried noodles. I need more fresh prawns/shrimps/shelled sea animals. they are my fav indeed.

Ok... I would like to start a little post on what I'm doing,academically, so far.

Nil...Zilch.

I've been doing nothing but reading. So much for progress (cue: roll eyes). But I also found out (a few weeks ago actually) that is has been a astand still in progress for the measurement system they have here for quite sometime (haha!). The reasons being are (upon listening to the intelligent gibbers talk, totally realising my presence was ignorable) the limitations of the instruments employed for the measurement itself (in this case, the arbitrary waveform generator/generators(awg)).

1. clocking (what the hell is that still remains a mystery to me)
2. phase lock - it would seem that it is hard to lock the instrument to a certain phase condition during each start up of the machine. other than that, if measurements were to be done for each band or harmonic range where a variable phase is much desired, the reference phase will not be at a desired lock. Which brings us to point:
3. to be able to vary the phase of each tone (independently I might add) that is sought to be measured which the reference phase locked
4. trigger(still a mystery though)
5. controlling software - in this case, we want to be able to control the phase, impedance environment (not yet achievable actually, even in whole) and frequency (which also relates to phase as well) of each tone, distortion and harmonic(those three are essentially the same in context but used differently in my line of study).

So, how do I dissect this whole thing into individual solvable problem? For one, I have not chose which problem to concentrate on. Then, there's an idea that has just come up after a short exchange of chats with a friend back in Malaysia to infuse(obviously the wrong word to use) a six port and load-pull measurement. For starters, I have to know what to measure (checked, its power amplifier). The parameters involved has been recognised and there are quite a handful, but doable and done before(except for a few though). Then, we need to know what instrument that will be involve in the measurement (awg, oscilloscope, mta(i forgot the whole name), microprobes, bpf lpf hpf (filters), bias t(maybe),

ok....bersambung.

couplers, padding, power sensor, power meter, .....banyak lagi lah kesimpulannye). Next, the configuration of the system, however, this would be numerous. A way to start is by reading the dissertation by Williams T. which is available in the library (and I have the softcopy too, wooohooo). But for the time being (even after a year), that is all I can do (and write). And yeah, this post is vague (obviously, I haven't blog about what's the title and its objective).

We were once ‘Malaysians’

The following keynote speech given by former finance minister and Gua Musang parliamentarian Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah at the 4th Annual Malaysian Student Leaders Summit (MSLS) today.

I have played some small role in the life of this nation, but having been on the wrong side of one or two political fights with the powers-that-be, I am not as close to the young people of this country as I would hope to be.

History and the 8 o’clock news are written by the victors. In recent years, the government’s monopoly of the media has been destroyed by the technology revolution.

You could say I was also a member of the United Kingdom and Eire Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC). Well, I was, except that belonged to the predecessor of the UKEC by more than 50 years, The Malayan Students Union of the UK and Eire. I led this organisation in 1958/59.

I was then a student of Queen’s University at Belfast, as well as at Lincoln’s Inn. In a rather cooler climate than Kota Bharu’s, we campaigned for decolonisation. We demonstrated in Trafalgar Square and even in Paris. We made posters and participated in British elections.

Your invitation to participate in the MSLS was prefaced by an essay that calls for an intellectually informed activism. I congratulate you on this. The Youth of today, you note, “will chart the future of Malaysia.” You say you “no longer want to be ignored and leave the future of our Malaysia at the hands of the current generation.” You “want to grab the bull by the horns… and have a say in where we go as a society and as a nation.”

I feel the same, actually. A lot of Malaysians feel the same. They are tired of being ignored and talked down to.

You are right. The present generation in power has let Malaysia down. But also you cite two things as testimony of the importance of youth and of student activism to this country, the election results of 2008 and “the prime minister’s acknowledgement of the role of youth in the development of the country.”

So perhaps you are a little way yet from thinking for yourselves. The first step in “grabbing the bull by the horns” is not to require the endorsement of the prime minister, or any Minister, for your activism. Politicians are not your parents. They are your servants. You don’t need a government slogan coined by a foreign PR agency to wrap your project in. You just go ahead and do it.

A man at ease with himself

When I was a student, our newly independent country was already a leader in the post-colonial world. We were sought out as a leader in the Afro-Asian Conference that inaugurated the Non-Aligned Movement and the G-77.

The Afro-Asian movement was led by such luminaries as Zhou En Lai, Nehru, Kwame Nkrumah and Soekarno. Malaysians were seen as moderate leaders capable of mediating between the more radical leaders and the West. We were known for our moderation, good sense and reliability.

We were a leader in the Islamic world as ourselves and as we were, without our leaders having to put up false displays of piety. His memory has been scrubbed out quite systematically from our national consciousness, so you might not know this or much else about him, but it was Tunku Abdul Rahman who established our leadership in the Islamic world by coming up with the idea of the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) and making it happen.

Under his leadership, Malaysia led the way in taking up the anti-apartheid cause in the Commonwealth and in the United Nations, resulting in South Africa’s expulsion from these bodies.

Here was a man at ease with himself, made it a policy goal that Malaysia be “a happy country”. He loved sport and encouraged sporting achievement among Malaysians. He was owner of many a fine race horses. He called a press conference with his stewards when his horse won at the Melbourne Cup.

He had nothing to hide because his great integrity in service was clear to all. Now we have religious and moral hypocrites who cheat, lie and steal in office, who propagate an ideologically that shackled the education system for all Malaysians while they send their own kids to elite academies in the West.

Days when we were on top

Speaking of football – you’re too young to have experienced the Merdeka Cup that Tunku started. We had a respectable side in the 60s and 70s. Teams from across Asia would come to play in Kuala Lumpur: Teams such as South Korea and Japan, whom we defeated routinely.

We were one of the better sides in Asia. We won the bronze medal at the Asian Games in 1974 and qualified for the Moscow Olympics in 1980. Today our FIFA ranking is 157 out of 203 countries.

That puts us in the lowest quartile, below Maldives (149), the smallest country in Asia, with just 400,000 people living about 1.5 metres above sea level who have to worry that their country may soon be swallowed up by climate change. Here in Asean we are behind Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, whom we used to dominate, and now only one spot above basketball-playing Philippines.

The captain of our illustrious 1970′s side was Soh Chin Aun, R Arumugam, Isa Bakar, Santokh Singh, James Wong and Mokhtar Dahari. They were heroes whose names rolled off the tongues of our schoolchildren as they copied them on the school field. It wasn’t about being the best in the world, but about being passionate and united and devoted to the game.

It was the same in badminton, except at one time we were the best in the world. I remember Wong Peng Soon, the first Asian to win the All-England Championship, and then just dominated it throughout the 1950. Back home every kid who played badminton in every little kampung wanted to call himself Wong Peng Soon.

There was no tinge of anybody identifying themselves exclusively as Chinese, Malays or Indian. Peng Soon was a Malayan hero. Just like each of our football heroes. Now we do not have an iota of that feeling. Where has it all gone?

Capital flight troubling

I don’t think it’s mere nostalgia that makes us think there was a time when the sun shone more brightly upon Malaysia. I bring up sport because it has been a mirror of our more general performance as a nation.

When we were at ease with who we were and didn’t need slogans to do our best together, we did well. When race and money entered our game, we declined. The same applies to our political and economic life.

Soon after independence, we were already a highly successful developing country. We had begun the infrastructure building and diversification of our economy that would be the foundation for further growth. We carried out an import-substitution programme that stimulated local productive capacity.

From there, we started an infrastructure build-up that enabled a diversification of the economy leading to rapid industrialisation. We carried out effective programmes to raise rural income and help the landless with programmes such as Felda.

Our achievements in achieving growth with equity were recognised around the world. Our peer group in economic development were South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, and we led the pack. I remember we used to send technical consultants to advise the South Koreans.

Bmalaysia stock exchange market klse 141008 05y the late 90s, however, we had fallen far behind this group and were competing with Thailand and Indonesia. Today, according to the latest World Investment Report, FDI into Malaysia is at a 20-year low.

We are entering the peer group of Cambodia, Burma and the Philippines as an investment destination. Thailand, despite a month-long siege of the capital, attracted more FDI than we did last year. Indonesia and Vietnam far outperform us, not as a statistical blip but consistently. Soon we shall have difficulty keeping up with the Philippines.

This, I believe, is called relegation. If we take into account FDI outflow, the picture is even more depressing. Last year, we received US$1.38 billion in investments but US$8.04 billion flowed out. We are the only country in Southeast Asia that has suffered net FDI outflow.

I am not against outward investment. It can be a good thing for the country. But an imbalance on this scale indicates capital flight, not mere investment overseas.

Time to wake up

Without a doubt, Malaysia is slipping. Billions have been looted from this country, and Billions more are being siphoned out as our entire political structure crumbles. Yet we are gathered here in comfort, in a country that still seems to ‘work’ – most of the time. This is due less to good management than to the extraordinary wealth of this country.

You were born into a country of immense resources, both natural, cultural and social. We have been wearing down this advantage with mismanagement and corruption. With lies, tall tales and theft. We have a political class unwilling or unable to address the central issue of the day because they have grown fat and comfortable with a system built on lies and theft.

It is time to wake up. That waking up can begin here, right here, at this conference. Not tomorrow or the day after but today. So let me, as I have the honour of opening this conference, suggest the following:

1) Overcome the urge to have our hopes for the future endorsed by the prime minister. He will have retired, and I’ll be long gone, when your future arrives. The shape of your future is being determined now.

2) Resist the temptation to say “in line with” when we do something. Your projects, believe it or not, don’t have to be in line with any government campaign for them to be meaningful. You don’t need to polish anyone’s apple. Just get on with what you plan to do.

3) Do not put a lid on certain issues as “sensitive” just because someone said they are. Or it is against the Social Contract. Or it is “politicisation”.

You don’t need to have your conversation delimited by the hyper-sensitive among us. Sensitivity is often a club people use to hit each other with. Reasoned discussion of contentious issues builds understanding and trust. Stress test your ideas.

4) It’s not “conservative” or “liberal” to ask for an end to having politics, economic policy, education policy and everything and the kitchen sink determined by race. It’s called growing up.

5) Don’t let the politicians you have invited here talk down to you.

Don’t let them

Don’t let them tell you how bright and “exuberant” you are, that you are the future of the nation, etc. If you close your eyes and flow with their flattery, you have safely joined the caravan, a caravan taking the nation down a sink hole.

If they tell you the future is in your hands, kindly request that they hand that future over first. Ask them how come the youngest member of our cabinet is 45? Our Merdeka cabinet had an average age below 30.

You’re not the first generation to be bright. Mine wasn’t too stupid. But you could be the first generation of students and young graduates in 50 years to push this nation through a major transformation. And it is a transformation we need desperately.

You will be told that much is expected of you, much has been given to you and so forth. This is all true. Actually much has also been stolen from you. Over the last 20 five years, much of the immense wealth generated by our productive people and our vast resources has been looted. This was supposed to have been your patrimony.

The uncomplicated sense of belonging fully, wholeheartedly, unreservedly, to this country, in all its diversity, that has been taken from you. Our sense of ourselves as Malaysians, a free and united people, has been replaced by a tale of racial strife and resentment that continues to haunt us. The thing is, this tale is false.

Reclaim your history

The most precious thing you have been deprived of has been your history. Someone of my generation finds it hard to describe what must seem like a completely different country to you now.

Malaysia was not born in strife but in unity. Our independence was achieved through a demonstration of unity by the people in supporting a multiracial government led by Tunku Abdul Rahman.

That show of unity, demonstrated first through the municipal elections of 1952 and then through the Alliance’s landslide victory in the elections of 1955, showed that the people of Malaya were united in wanting their freedom. We surprised the British, who thought we could not do this.

Today we are no longer as united as we were then. We are also less free. I don’t think this is a coincidence. It takes free people to have the psychological strength to overcome the confines of a racialised worldview. It takes free people to overcome those politicians bent on hanging on to power gained by racialising every feature of our life including our football teams.

Hence while you are at this conference, let me argue, that as an absolute minimum, we should call for the repeal of unjust and much abused Acts of Parliament which are reversals of freedoms that we won at Merdeka.

I ask you in joining me in calling for the repeal of the ISA (Internal Security Act) and the OSA (Official Secrets Act). These draconian laws have been used, more often than not, as political tools rather than instruments of national security. They create a climate of fear.

I ask you to join me in calling for the repeal of the Printing and Publications Act, and above all, the Universities and University Colleges Act (UUCA). I don’t see how you can pursue your student activism with such freedom and support in the UK and Eire while forgetting that your brethren at home are deprived of their basic rights of association and expression by the UUCA. The UUCA has done immense harm in dumbing down our universities.

We must have freedom as guaranteed under our constitution. Freedom to assemble, associate, speak, write, move. This is basic. Even on matters of race and even on religious matters we should be able to speak freely, and we shall educate each other.

Make BN multiracial

It is time to realise the dream of Hussein Onn and the spirit of the Alliance and of Tunku Abdul Rahman. That dream was one of unity and a single Malaysian people. They went as far as they could with it in their time. Instead of taking on the torch, we have reversed course. The next step for us as a country is to move beyond the infancy of race-based parties to a non-racial party system.

Our race-based party system is the key political reason why we are a sick country, declining before our own eyes, with money fleeing and people telling their children not to come home after their studies.

So let us try to take 1Malaysia seriously. Millions have been spent putting up billboards and adding the term to every conceivable thing. We even have ‘Cuti-cuti 1Malaysia’. Can’t take a normal holiday anymore. This is all fine.

Now let us see if it means anything. Let us see the government of the day lead by example. 1Malaysia is empty because it is propagated by a government supported by a racially-based party system that is the chief cause of our inability to grow up in our race relations.

Our inability to grow up in our race relations is the chief reason why investors, and we ourselves, no longer have confidence in our economy. The reasons why we are behind Maldives in football, and behind the Philippines in FDI, are linked.

So let us take 1Malaysia seriously, and convert Barisan Nasional into a party open to all citizens. Let it be a multiracial party open to direct membership. Pakatan Rakyat will be forced to do the same or be left behind the times. Then we shall have the vehicles for a two party, non-race-based system.

If Umno, MIC or MCA are afraid of losing supporters, let them get their members to join this new multiracial party. Pakatan Rakyat should do the same. Nobody need feel left out. Umno members can join en masse. The Hainanese Kopitiam Owners’ Association can join whichever party they want, or both parties en masse if they like.

We can maintain our cherished civil associations, however we choose to associate. But we drop all communalism when we compete for the ballot. When our candidates stand for elections, let them ever after stand only as Malaysians, for better or worse.

Contrary to popular believe, I like to keep things to myself...unless provoked to speak my mind out. Yes people! This warrant a Believe-It-Or-Not moment. I don't blend well into society's norm, apalagi malaysian standard. One of my many expectations when I got here is aku tak payah keep up to people's standard a.k.a malaysians' level of thinking(believe me it's not something bad). But somehow, I find myself quite hard to mix with malaysians in the UK. Kalo jenis yang tak kesah ape ko buat, considerable lagi lah kot. Tak cukup kah aku kena menepati piawaian negara asal, bile mana kat UK ni aku nak really BE MYSELF? Orang kata(ni kononnye nasihat lah), tak bole expect org terima kita, kita kene terima orang. I beg to differ when I believe I have accepted orang lain as they are. But is it to much to ask for people not to be so...how shall I put it...MALAYSIAN? I mean, come on, day in day out, walaupun surrounded by mat sallehs, I speak Malay, I listen to Malay conversation, I eat with malaysians, I gossiped with malaysians. Can't I truly be me on my weekends? Perlu mintak permission kah untuk menjadi diri sendiri and not someone else? Percayalah bila aku kate, ye, aku telah berubah, dari seorang yang talkative menjadi pendiam, dari seorang yg memberi idea kepada seseorang yg mendengar tanpa memberi idea, dari seorang tak leh in dgn orang lain, menjadi hipokrit lalu berusaha untuk in dgn org lain(dan ye, orang lain tu adalah rakyat malaysia tajaan malaysia). Ah ah....banyak jek alasan aku kata orang. Salah ke mempunyai alasan sendiri? Orang lain pun banyak gak alasan yg dilemparkan kat aku ape salahnye aku memperdengarkan alasan aku pulak? ke perlu terus mendiam diri dan pakse diri menerima orang lain walaupun tak reti dah cemane nak terima bile dah mmg terima? (tapi dinasihatkan utk just be yourself, bagaimana tu?)

Hmmm...lantak lah...mereka terbayar, aku jek yg tak terbayar. Hehehehe...mungkin perlu menjadi parasit menumpang kesenangan org baru la diterima masyarakat kot? Hentah, aku pun tak paham ape aku bebelkan ni. Baik makan nasik.

I revisited some of my earlier posts...LAWAK SEH!

Asyik tau komplen jek...sikit2 melancholic, sikit2 infinite sadness....HAHAHAHAHAH...sumpah this blog is about the failure of being me. Of the downfall into what I thought a bottomless pit but turns out it was only a rabbit hole swirling down into wonderland. Life sure is funny and ironic and a total bitch.

Aku start blog ni as a retaliation to a fren's blog. Tapi lepas letak tajuk jek, arah tujuan terus berubah menjadi tempat komplen, letak gambar2 'feeling2 nak jadi fotografer hebat tapi berbekalkan compact camera', perasan cool blogger dsbg. Come 2009 semuanya telah mellow down. Sakit hati hanya disimpan sahaja...kakakakaka...yelar, mase ni dah bz nak prepare dan jugak telah tiba di UK.

And now, I definitely am swirling down the rabbit hole...it's just that I haven't found the secret wonderland yet, and the hole is damn deep I tell you. Tu belom lagi tersekat2 kat akar2 pokok and rumput while swirling down ni (it sounds like heaven is at the bottom instead of above).

#on another note, I encountered a few funny situation. Saw four naked men walking home(I presume) while commuting to my morning job at 4.45am. It was -2/-3 degrees mase tu. Sambil pegang baju masing2 dan cover dgn tuala, salah sorang tu sapa,"Hi!". Sib baik aku tak tergolek dr basikal gelak guling2.

Selain tu, ade org panggil aku mase aku tgh jalan ke arah tesco. Mase ni tghr lar.Bersungguh2 panggil aku then tanya aku mane nak carik tabacco for smoking. Mcm takde org lain kat tepi2 die, nak gak panggil aku. Die ingat aku jual "green" tabacco kot....kakakakaka. Terbukti setelah sampai UK ni aku masih bermuka penyangak...tapi HEDDLU tak tahan aku utk soal siasat plak!

Masalah moral

Believe me when I say,'Kids here are in moral danger!'. I saw a few kids hanging around at the junction to my house. Two of them ran behind a car trying to light up a cigarette! When they saw me walking towards them(it was the normal route I would take anyway) they quickly ran, giggling among themselves...and I think those two boys are like 10 years old max. I suspect one is only eight. And the cigarette looked used. And then the remaining group saw me walking...I think there were two girls and four boys. I heard the boys saying,'D cup... C cup... D cup... it's D cup. You like D cup right? Well I used to like them but not now...I know you liked them. No I don't',(something like that) among themselves.

So parents take heed. You don't want your kids to grow up becoming social degenerates,do you?

Puasa

Bulan puasa. Toko-toko yang mendadak menjadi cepat sekali tutup. Pengemis dan pengamen (baca: orang-orang yang tidak terlalu ingin untuk bekerja keras) makin banyak berkeliaran dijalan-jalan. Pengendara kendaraan bermotor yang mendadak jauh lebih beringas dan agak sedikit lupa aturan ketika waktu mendekati pukul 6 sore. Kemacetan lalu lintas yang lebih kompleks. Konsentrasi kerja yang menurun. Mobilitas yang melambat. Emosional dan sensitif. Banyak excuses yang tidak perlu.

Lepas dari segala fenomena diatas tetaplah bulan puasa adalah bulan penuh berkah. Mengapa penuh berkah? Karena dibulan ini kita diberi kesempatan ‘lebih’ untuk introspeksi. Ada yang komentar: 'Lho, bukannya introspeksi itu harusnya setiap hari? Nggak usah nunggu bulan puasa kaliii?' Saya jawab: Iyaa, makanya saya bilang ‘lebih’ karena dibulan ini kita (ceritanya) difokuskan, diniatkan lebih serius lagi :)

Dalam pendapat saya bulan puasa adalah bulan dimana kita semua (saya tekankan: SEMUA) belajar untuk introspeksi, belajar untuk apresiatif yang akhirnya menjadikan kita bijaksana dan seimbang. Momen ini penting bukan hanya untuk saudara-saudara saya yang muslim tapi juga saya beserta saudara-saudara saya yang non-muslim. Kita latihan bersama-sama sebenarnya.

Berpuasa atau tidak berpuasa kedua-duanya adalah sama-sama pilihan bebas yang harus dihormati dan dihargai.

Yang berpuasa menyadari bahwa yang dikuatkan dalam menjalankan ibadah puasa adalah iman terhadap godaan serta keteguhan hati untuk menerima kenyataan bahwa banyak juga orang lain yang tidak berpuasa. Keteguhan hati untuk memberikan keleluasaan kepada orang lain untuk memilih jalannya masing-masing, apakah mau berpuasa atau tidak berpuasa. Agak menjadi lucu memang ketika orang yang tidak berpuasa harus menerima ‘teguran’ dari orang-orang yang berpuasa ketika kedapatan sedang makan dibulan puasa. ‘Hargain dong orang puasa! Jangan makan depan orang puasa!’ begitu protesnya. Lucu.

Yang tidak berpuasa juga menyadari bahwa banyak yang memilih untuk berpuasa. Apresiatif. Bukan toleransi saja. Mengertilah lebih. Bahwa pada kenyataannya akan banyak orang menjadi tidak terlalu kreatif, menjadi emosional dan sensitif karena menahan lapar dan lelah ketika berpuasa. Kata-kata seperti: ‘Lo yang puasa ya masalah lo! Siapa juga yang nyuruh? Kalo nggak kuat ya jangan puasa!’ tidak perlu hadir dalam kenyataan. Inilah momen melatih kesabaran. Jangan mengharap lebih. Harapan berlebihan hanya akan menimbulkan penderitaan dan konflik-konflik yang tidak perlu.

Introspeksi, sesuai namanya, adalah proses kedalam dan bukan keluar. Jadi tidak pada tempatnya kalau kita menyalahkan segala sesuatu yang berada diluar diri kita. Kontra indikatif.

Kalau iman mau dikuatkan, SEBENARNYA bukan restoran atau diskotiknya yang ditutup, bukan alkohol yang dimusnahkan, bukan pelacuran atau perjudian yang dibubarkan, tapi IMAN (baca: kesadarannya, mentalitasnya) yang harus dilatih. Contoh paling ekstrim: kenapa pelacuran dan perjudian masih ada? Jawabannya sederhana: Hukum Ekonomi. Supply and Demand. Pelacuran dan perjudian masih ada karena masih ada demand, masih ada permintaan, masih banyak fans-nya. Supply akan berhenti dengan sendirinya kalau demand makin sedikit atau bahkan tidak ada sama sekali.

Bagaimana cara mengurangi atau bahkan ‘mematikan’ demand-demand ‘ajaib’ ini? Yang paling efektif adalah latihan kesadaran. Keteguhan iman-nya yang dikuatkan, mentalitasnya yang dikokohkan, pola pikirnya yang dibersihkan. Bukan godaannya yang dihancurkan dan dihilangkan. Kalau setiap kali kita ingin meneguhkan iman dengan cara menghancurkan segala godaan lalu apa guna dan manfaat latihan meneguhkan iman? Dimana makna latihannya? Nggak ada.

Ada yang protes: ‘Tapi dengan menutup pelacuran dan perjudian kan juga salah satu upaya menutup kemungkinan suatu ‘dosa’ dibuat? Jadi nggak salah dong kalo kita nutup pelacuran dan perjudian?’ atau pernyataan ‘Melacur itu bukan pekerjaan!’ (dengan mengenyampingkan fakta dan menyangkal bahwa melacur sebagai mata pencaharian sudah ada sejak ribuan tahun yang lalu, lepas dari halal atau tidaknya). Iya bener kok. Nggak salah. Tapi tetaplah berhati-hati dan jangan merasa sudah menang. Bukan hanya dengan membangun tempat-tempat ibadah disekitar pelacuran dan berharap semua pelacur bertobat. Atau dengan memberikan mereka keterampilan bekerja dan berharap mereka akan meninggalkan pelacuran dan memulai kerja yang lebih halal. Tidak semudah itu. Karena dengan menutup pelacuran dan perjudian tentunya juga menimbulkan konsekuensi lain yang tidak kalah mengerikannya bahkan lebih mengerikan dari pelacuran dan perjudian itu sendiri. Faktanya justru pelacuran dan perjudian malahan menjadi makin liar tidak terkendali, penyakit karena hubungan seksual merajalela dan semakin sulit dikontrol, banyak orang yang hidupnya dan keluarganya hancur berantakan karena pelacuran dan perjudian.

Masalah-masalah ini sekali lagi erat hubungannya dengan keteguhan iman kita, mentalitas kita. Kasarnya, kalau memang mentalnya suka melacur, apapun pasti akan dilacurkan, bahkan anak sendiripun kalau perlu dijual dan diperkosa. Kalau mentalnya memang sudah doyan judi, apapun bisa dijudikan. Kalau mentalnya memang doyan mabuk, alkohol dari apotek dicampur dengan aneka soft drinks-pun pasti akan memuaskan. Jadi kembali lagi: ini masalah MENTAL. Tidak lain dan tidak bukan, bukan?

Introspeksi dan latihan kesadaran sama-sama yuk. Jangan kebanyakan nyalahin orang. Kuatkan mental kita, iman kita, kesadaran kita.

Sekali lagi, bulan puasa adalah bulan penuh berkah. Puasalah dengan tulus. Tanpa pamrih. Anggaplah pahala itu tidak pernah ada, jadi kita bisa mengerti arti ketulusan. Puasa yang bukan hanya mengharapkan pahala saja. Tidak mengharapkan kembali. Jangan takut karena masih ada sebelas bulan yang lain untuk terus berlatih. Selamat menunaikan ibadah puasa, saudara-saudaraku.

P.S. Saya pernah mendengar pengakuan polos seorang tukang cukur ketika saya sedang bercukur. Dia bilang kalau dia sengaja tidak tidur malam dan langsung menyambung dengan sahur. Setelahnya dia bisa tidur dan bangun sekitar jam 3 siang sambil menunggu buka puasa. Enak banget puasanya. Menurut anda gimana? :)

Of Keropok Lekor and Ribena

I'm a fan of Ribena tapi takdak la fanat sgt...it's just that, instead of drinking cola or soda, which many people know I drink like a horse, I opt for Ribena to reduce sugar intake. And HOW is that REDUCING my sugar intake? For one, I can control the amount of Ribena I add. But slalu gak add byk sebab tak cukup manis. And a can of coke/pepsi or whatever carbonated drinks have like 7 spoonful of sugar. Or was it 15? I don't know. I might be exaggerating the numbers but who cares.

Next keropok lekor, I bought it from some Malaysian (I don't really know who). The first time I tried was at a party (masa tu keropok telah pun dipurchase ye). My first reaction was, pelik skit rasa die and kerasnye. Not like liat macam keropok lekor biase but kinda like a little crumbly...so conclusion, jangan beli lagi. Plus it was quite masin.

So hari ni telah goreng keropok lekor tu (rebus dulu as suggested by tukang amik order(bukan si penjual) baru goreng sebabnye takut dah busuk skit akibat tak simpan dlm freezer, freezer penuh). Mak aiiihhh...die punye letup tu...takut aku nak goreng dah. Goreng ayam pun tak sedahsyat tu. And, aku buat Ribena nak minum skalik.Dah ler baru lepas makan nasik, gile kuasa plak makan kropok lekor yg crumbly tu. Makan plak dgn sos chilli expired yg aku beli siang tadik(bijak kan? tak guna blajar pandai2 kalo ilmu untuk hidup takde) and sambil tu minum air Ribena.The worst part was not the expired chilli sos but the keropok lekor...rase terseksa gak nak habiskan. Kalo tak sedap buang jek laaa kan...tapi aku beli LIMA POUND utk lima belas batang ok! And sebatang tu macam sebatang yg doplosen beli kat malaysia yg dah potong tu tapi panjang sikit. Air Ribena pun tak habis (musykil).

Tapi yg buat aku happy is...BAJU DAH BASUH (I told you I was domesticated). Cuma nak tunggu kering jek seksa...but I cheated, I used two...let me repeat...TWO heater fan to dry my clothes...skrg dah pukul 5 pagi...baju still tak kering....kakakakakak....kene tunggu turn untuk kering.

Conclusion, keropok lekor and Ribena did not make my day but a call from Malaysia made me smile. :D

Mentally disoriented and annoyed

Hahahahah...I just proved myself to be a psycho with a title like that kan? Aku kan "enigmatic lady" bak kate Umie yg jeles dgn kehebatan gambar aku memegang camera...kalo tak, takkan nak letak gambar aku kat facebook die? Baik letak gambar sendiri utk mendapat jodoh. Kakakakaka.

I feel rather lethargic this whole week. In fact, I feel down and useless. There wasn't any indication that the station would be free anytime soon and September is coming up. Nanti Will balik dr holidays die ape aku nak jawab kalo die tanya dah buat ke belom measurement yg die suruh buat (in English of course, Will makhluk bermata biru and rambut brownish blonde ok!)? So what have I done this whole week? Nothing but building up stress unnecessarily!If the stress was necessary takpe gak...dah ler tak buat ape...stress plak tuh....gay betul.

Speaking of gay, there'll be a Mardi Gras in Cardiff end of this month and I'm looking forward to go have a peek. Nekmah laaa yg kabor ke aku...kate nak dtg hujung bulan, tetiba tak jadik plak sebab thesis tak siap...ko lah yg gay Nekmah(walaupun dah kawin).

And aku benci Najjah...asyik melancong jek...I hate you! Padehal minah tu mmg duk kumpul duit utk nonton concert and melancong....aku ni jek laa tak reti-reti nak carik keje dan menambah wang saku utk kehidupan bulanan kat sini. 100 UK money a month is not enough for a big eater like me OK! Plus, it's not like I'm on scholarship (budak bengap mane layak dapat scholarship, kene reject ade la). Kalo dak, sure aku hidup mewah kat sini dah.

Oh and I'm so looking forward to watch Dorian Gray premiering on 9th next month (Nekamh gak yg kabor ke aku), just like when Blood+ was gonna show in UK cinema(tapi tak pegi tgk pun...tunggu laa lagi dua bulan aku download dr internet). I have Dorian Gray (the book) but haven't got around to read it yet and won't be reading it anytime soon because it's in Malaysia right now.

And my winamp playlist have regress back on the mellow side...AGAIN! Lagu-lagu indo kembali bermain di pemain digital ku. Hehehehehe.

And (and lagi) I find myself domesticating(tak tau betul ke dak, tgk dlm installed dictionary tak salah but perkataan domesticate yg keluar) myself even more. Yelar, duit tadak, nak merayap jauh2 pun tak dapat. Kalo keluar pun membeli barang dapur jek. For example, pagi tadi ikut Kak Zu pegi shopping groceries...which I do on a weekly basis on my own. Ape lagi laaaaaaaaaaaa yg tak cukup. Itu laaaa...sape suruh makan banyak (although, compared to org lain punye peti ais and rak dapur, aku guna ruang sikit jek nak simpan, umah share kan).

On a lighter note, last Sunday pegi carboot sale they have in Sully, naik bus. Dapat 3...I repeat THREE item that I needed; winter coat, autumn coat and fleece jacket. 50p EACH OK! Murah gilerk walaupun winter coat tu ade koyak kat lengan and a few places, but who cares, jahit jek laaa balik ye tak? Thus end my quest for winter clothing. Walaupun fleece tu dah lusuh skit, tapi aku nak pakai kat umah jek pun, takde duit aku nak beli thermal clothing. Ni pun nak kene pk beli fleece blanket, nnt kang beku tido memalam mase winter kang. Oh, also, I bought myself a blender I always wanted(macam laaa akan guna slalu, bukan terrer masak pun), mane duit tak habis! Padan muke!!!

So kesimpulannye....blajar rajin2 dan dapatkan scholarship secepat mungkin!

I have a bicycle. I bought it at Bessemer Street's Sunday Boot Sale. And after so long, I finally rode it (proper riding) today. Destination: Bessemer Street Saturday Boot Sale! This is a planned trip. So I kindly declined an invitation to a BBQ party at Riverside Park (somewhere...I don't know). Off to the streets on my bike on a sunny Saturday morning. 15 minutes on the bike, my ass started to hurt, which reminds me; I MUST LOSE WEIGHT! Off and on, I trode my bike along as my leg starts to cramp, which reminds me of my age. Why? It's been ages since I last rode on a bike. 9 years ago. Perhaps.

Also gave a call to my Cardiff host (they picked me up when I arrived and roofed me for three days before I settle in Cardiff). Planned visit to look at thier newborn baby boy, Irfan. But no one answered. Was browsing through the merchandise on display. Found a mirror, antique look, and my fiver gone. Left my bike at the stall where I bought the mirror. Lovely couple they are. I think they're Welsh. And off looking for a small vacuum cleaner. The one at home is just too heavy to be brought into my room often.Found one for 3 but bargained at 2. Yeay! Already purchased a bronze plated round trinket box and its twin bowl at 20p each! And am eyeing on a fold table. Next visit perhaps.

Baby's cute but was borned underweight. Poor boy.

Home; drank cooled Ribena. Cooked pasta. Ate them. Wash up. Anime. Blog hopping. And now aching everywhere.

I noticed that here in my group, the research done are what most other noted people have done in this field of RF system. They concentrate alot in load pull envelope and the likes. However, that's just one realisation today. I might be wrong, but then again I hope I am wrong. I don't really want to be doing what other people are competing to do as well. I might sound like I'm surrendering even before I began but that's just how it is. It'll be hard to publish quality paper if everbody has already published them. Unless I'm super genius and can devise a system that doesn't require direct electric plugin to power up the power amplifier and can use the sun as the source, then I don't see how I'm going to publish a good one (padahal tak pernah publish paper pun...kecoh jek lebih :P)

And please, don't judge a book by its cover or rather just keep your pie hole shut "self"!

World Naked Bike Ride...NOT!

I was kinda excited for that event...but was kinda dissapointed when there wasn't one. Anyhow, explored the museum a little. Quite fascinating despite the welsh speaking video and dark interior. So lepas tu aku pegi Queens Street, lepak2 sorang2. Sebab tak tau mane nak gi dah kan, so saje jek laaa lepak. On the way back after melepak tu, I say a guy, he seems drunk but not that intoxicated. And guess what?! He was wearing a blue long skirt! Aku dah macam orang tak betul dah sebab kelam kabut nak on camera...siap nak kejar die sebab nak dapat clear shot, but all I have was this....

...

Ok...malas nak letak gambar lagik...nanti aku rajin keluarkan dr camera baru letak.:P

Hopefully I can relocate to a nearer location later this month...ah maaa...bank in the money lar...
